Korean Serums

Serums as optional treatments — niacinamide, hydrating hyaluronic acid, snail and ginseng — with qualitative “best for” notes, not scores.

A serum should have a job. Hydration, niacinamide, or a mixed identity formula are different jobs. You rarely need three serums that all say “glow.”

If you are new to leave-on treatments, pick one serum and give it time. A hydrating serum is a quieter start than a high-percentage niacinamide or an acid-containing glow serum.

Nothing here is a numerical rating. If a serum lists BHA or a high percentage of niacinamide, that is a reason to go slowly — not a reason to buy it first.

  • Beauty of Joseon

    Glow Serum (Propolis + Niacinamide)

    Serum
    • oily and combination skin
    • niacinamide in a serum step
    • lightweight glow-oriented hydration

This may be a useful option if you want a niacinamide serum that also lists a small amount of BHA and a propolis identity. That mix is more “treatment” than a plain hydrating essence — consider it if oilier skin and texture are the job, not if you only need water-binding layers.

  • COSRX

    The Niacinamide 15 Serum

    Serum
    • oily and combination skin
    • readers focused on niacinamide as a treatment

This may be a useful option if you specifically want a high-percentage niacinamide serum and you already tolerate niacinamide in milder formulas. Fifteen percent is a formulation choice, not a guarantee of clearer pores or a reason to skip moisturizer.

  • Beauty of Joseon

Revive Serum (Ginseng + Snail Mucin)

    Serum
    • dry and dehydrated skin
    • snail mucin plus ginseng identity
    • layered hydration

This may be a useful option if you want a serum that combines ginseng, snail mucin, and listed niacinamide rather than a single-active bottle. It is more of a hydrating treatment than a pore-focused BHA serum.

  • Torriden

DIVE-IN Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Serum

    Serum
    • dehydration
    • dry skin
    • beginners who want a hydrating serum
    • ceramide-aware hydration

This may be a useful option if hydration is the job and you want a serum whose INCI is built around hyaluronic acid forms, with ceramide NP also listed. That profile is relevant to dry skin, glass-skin hydration, and our ceramides explainer — without turning brand clinical percentages into K Beauty Desk claims.

Editorial notesNot the first serum to add if you are still settling a cleanser–moisturizer–sunscreen core. Introduce treatment serums one at a time.High-percentage niacinamide is optional. If skin stings or flushes, stop and simplify — more percent is not automatically more useful.Beginner-friendly as a hydrating serum if the texture appeals. Not a substitute for a moisturizer on dry skin.Hydrating serums still need a moisturizer in dry air. We are not repeating the brand’s clinical percentage claims as our own results.

Build a routine that fits

Korean skincare is easier when the steps match your skin, not a generic ten-item list. The routine builder turns four answers into a short morning and evening sequence.
